Support to children's reception centres

Concrete help to facilities that welcome children without a family or facing severe hardship, improving their everyday living conditions.

Project image - Support to children's reception centresSupport for child reception centers is one of the NGO's ongoing activities, developed over time through concrete interventions aimed at improving the daily living conditions of the children and young people hosted there. The action focuses on several facilities, particularly the child reception centers in Kouandé, Boukoumbé and Pahou, where essential goods are provided, such as food supplies, powdered milk, diapers, clothing, toys, mattresses, and materials useful for everyday life.

In addition to material support, the intervention also extends to educational assistance. At the Kouandé boarding facility, managed by the Sisters of Saint Augustine, the NGO has been covering the salary of an educator for several years. This role is fundamental in supporting the children's growth, daily routines, and educational development.

At the same time, the NGO intervenes when specific needs arise within the facilities. A recent example is the orphanage in Boukoumbé, where the NGO provided new mattresses for the dormitories and repaired damaged beds. These targeted actions, though simple, contribute significantly to ensuring more dignified and adequate living conditions for the children.

ANAN volunteers regularly visit the partner facilities to monitor needs, keep a direct bond with the children hosted there and deliver goods collected in Italy. These visits are a key moment of listening: they allow interventions to be adjusted to real situations, help build trust with the local teams and ensure continuity of support over time.

«Supporting those who welcome means giving every child a safe place to grow up, study and imagine a future.»

Project moment - Support to children's reception centresSupporting those who welcome does not mean replacing the work of these facilities, but standing beside them over time, filling the resource gaps that often make dignified conditions hard to guarantee. Every contribution, even a small one, turns into a bed, a meal or a notebook for a child who would otherwise go without, and into a concrete horizon for the future.
