Neuropsychomotor activities to develop and maintain the motor and cognitive autonomy of the residents of the Vidjigni "Les Archanges" Centre.

The project was created with the aim of offering people with motor and cognitive difficulties a structured and continuous space where they can develop, maintain, or regain essential skills for daily life. Through neuropsychomotor activities, the programme guides beneficiaries along a gradual path that places movement, relationships, and play at the centre as tools for growth and well‑being.

Project image - Vidjigni Centre, DekanmeThe activities have a strong recreational, playful, and occupational component, designed to stimulate not only motor and cognitive abilities but also motivation, active participation, and the pleasure of being together. The project was conceived and structured by an Italian neuropsychomotor therapist, who defines the intervention guidelines and periodically updates the programme based on emerging needs. The daily implementation of the activities is entrusted to a local professional, trained and employed by ANAN, ensuring continuity and strong integration of the project within the community.

The sessions take place three times a week and involve participants in group activities that promote socialisation and peer learning. The programme includes coordination exercises, motor circuits, group games, attention and memory activities, and moments of symbolic play, all adapted to the abilities and interests of the individuals involved.

The project includes continuous monitoring of each participant’s progress. Every three months, the local coordinator completes an evaluation form for each beneficiary, which helps track improvements and identify areas that require further work. This process of observation and review allows the project to remain flexible and responsive to the real needs of the participants. The overall results are then compiled into an annual report, providing an overview of the project’s impact.

«A quiet, steady work that puts the person and their overall wellbeing at the centre.»

Project moment - Vidjigni Centre, DekanmeThe programme is aimed at the residents of the Vidjigni “Les Archanges” Centre in Dékanmè, a village in the Commune of Kpomassé, in the Atlantique Department. The centre is managed by the Sisters of Saint Augustine, and the project is integrated into daily life there as a recognisable and eagerly awaited space dedicated to movement, relationships, and the discovery of one’s own abilities.

Over time, the project aims to foster improvements in motor and cognitive skills, greater autonomy in daily activities, and increased active participation and motivation. It is a quiet and steady process that places the person and their overall wellbeing at the centre, valuing every small step forward as part of a broader journey of growth and inclusion.
